The Huy Cable Car is one of the city’s most iconic attractions. It directly connects the city center to the Citadel, crossing the Meuse River and the surrounding neighborhoods. Thanks to its modern panoramic cabins, it offers sweeping views of the entire valley and the steep cliffs characteristic of Huy.
History
A cable car already existed in Huy as early as the 1950s, but it was shut down in the 2010s for technical reasons. A complete reconstruction was undertaken, resulting in the inauguration of a new, more secure and comfortable modern cable car.
Today, it stands as one of the city’s major tourist infrastructures and offers a unique way to reach the Citadel, a site steeped in history and remembrance.
Route and Experience
The ride is short but incredibly impressive. The cabins depart from the city center station, glide over the houses, cross the Meuse, then ascend toward the rocky peak where the Citadel stands.

Access to the Citadel
