History
In the 1930s, a copy of the Manneken Pis statue in Brussels was placed in Westmeerbeek to honor the village’s mocking name.
A new statue was unveiled on May 1, 2008. Previous versions of the statue had been demolished or stolen.
In October 2015, the statue was vandalized again. In May 2016, a new Manneken Pis was installed, but it was not white like its predecessors, but black.
