Belfry of Kortrijk
Courtrai, West Flanders
The Belfry of Kortrijk was built starting in 1307, when the King of France allowed the citizens of Kortrijk to have a bell installed for their affairs. The belfry served successively as a watchtower, a prison, and later as a bell tower.
