The Dinant Citadel is located in Wallonia and was built in 1818 on the site of a dismantled fort constructed by Vauban, which itself stood on the remains of an older fortress built in 1051 by the Prince-Bishop of Liège, Théoduin. The view from the citadel is unquestionably the most beautiful — and the most famous — overlooking the city of Dinant.
