Remark

This house is a private residence and cannot be visited. It is located in a small pedestrian alley connecting two streets, in a quiet residential area. If you come to admire it, please remain discreet and respect the peace of the inhabitants.

An architect inspired by nature

Yves Delhez, a native of Eupen, chose to follow the path of organic architecture, in direct harmony with nature. He loved designing sensory and living houses, where every detail seemed to evolve over time. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 60, leaving behind several remarkable projects in Belgium, including this astonishing house.

A blend of shapes and materials

This unusual house stands out for its lack of symmetry and repetition. Its facades combine local stone, schist, wood and bricks, creating a unique visual effect. The roof, covered with thistles (cherbins), adds to this surprising mixture that immediately captures the attention of passers-by.

Hidden creatures in the walls

Walking around the house, one can let the imagination run free. The irregular shapes and sculpted volumes sometimes resemble fantastic animals. This impression is reinforced by the use of natural materials and by the architect’s desire to give his work an almost living dimension.
