Liège , Liege

The Perron de Liège, located on the Market Square opposite the town hall, is an iconic monument representing the freedoms of the city of Liège.
Its history dates back to 942, when a fountain was reported to be located on this site. The first known representation of the Perron appears on a coin dating from the reign of Prince-Bishop Henri de Leyen. The monument’s current structure was erected in 1305.
