Since 1991, Le Poechenellekelder has been rooted in the heart of Brussels, close to the Grand Place, and its reputation still stands: “At the Poech one day, at the Poech always!” This authentic Belgian estaminet, located just steps from the Manneken Pis, remains a must-visit spot for both locals and international visitors.

The most iconic Brussels estaminet
No other place will let you enjoy gueuze quite the same way. All the major breweries of the Senne Valley are represented here, including Oud Beersel, 3 Fonteinen, Boon, Tilquin, Girardin and many more. The owner is an endless source of knowledge on the subject, so don’t hesitate to ask him anything! Located right across from the Manneken Pis, this café is also renowned for its selection of special gueuzes from the famous Cantillon brewery. You’ll find more than 10 unique creations in 75 cl bottles, including the well-known Foufoune (an apricot gueuze) and Vigneronne (aged in white wine barrels).
A surprising façade
While the interior features the typical decor of Brussels estaminets, the exterior is just as striking. A dozen bicycles hang from the façade — an initiative launched by the cycling-enthusiast owner of Le Poechenellekelder for the start of the 2019 Tour de France, which took place in the Belgian capital.
