Description
The Road Museum is a museum in the village of Henri-Chapelle, part of the Belgian municipality of Welkenraedt, located on Charlemagne Street near the café-restaurant La Couronne.
The “museum” is an open-air exhibit built by local residents. It displays reconstructions of road surfaces from six different historical periods: the Roman era, the time of Charlemagne, the era of Notger, the reign of Empress Maria Theresa, the Napoleonic era, and the reign of King Albert I.
