The Vlaeykensgang secret passage dates back to 1591 and connects Oude Koornmarkt and Pelgrimstraat. When you step through the small door at Oude Koornmarkt 16, you feel as if you have been transported back in time.

Description
In the past, the passage was the domain of cobblers, who were responsible for ringing the cathedral’s alarm bell, and it was the poorest people in the city who lived here. Today, it is home to antique shops, art galleries, and the luxurious Sir Anthony Van Dyck restaurant. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the passage is a popular place to listen to carillon concerts in the summer.
