In 1973, a private investor founded the La Reid Game Park with the aim of breeding European wild animals while offering the public the opportunity to visit the site. Due to financial difficulties, the municipality of Theux acquired the park in 1998, before selling it to a private individual in March 2002. Under its new management, the park was renamed Forestia in 2007.

Description
The Animal Park offers a unique experience, allowing visitors to discover European animals in a semi-free environment on the edge of the Liège Ardennes.
Focused on raising awareness of the region’s flora and fauna, the park promotes values of respect for animals and their environment. With five kilometers of trails to explore at their own pace, visitors can observe more than 300 animals belonging to some 30 species, including wolves, lynxes, bears, bison, deer, and chamois.
The Adventure Trail also offers a variety of activities in the trees, allowing for a more in-depth discovery of the forest and its inhabitants. To enhance the visit, a restaurant, the Forest’bar, and a playground are also available.
