Franchimont Castle
Theux, Liege
Franchimont Castle is a fortified castle located in Theux. This 11th-century medieval stronghold was built on a rocky spur overlooking the Hoëgne Valley and played an important role in the defense of the Principality of Liège. It was improved over the centuries but was ultimately decommissioned as a military structure in the 17th century.
