Strépy-Thieu Boat Lift
Strépy-Bracquegnies, Hainaut
The Strépy-Thieu ship lift is a double-deck ship lift located on the Canal du Centre. Inaugurated in 2002 after 20 years of construction, it stands 117 meters tall and weighs 220,000 tons, handling an average of twenty barges per day. Its vertical lift is 73.15 meters. The descent takes 7 minutes.
